乾隆 Kangxi Langyao Gall Bladder Shaped (Dan Ping) Vase

A fine copper-red Langyao glazed gall bladder shaped vase (dan ping), also called a pear shaped vase. The glaze pale and with a purplish cast reminiscent of the rare ashes of roses glaze thins from the mouth rim darkening at the base to a deeper burgundy tone where the glaze stops well above the foot rim, the base is glazed white. 
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Height:  8 1/2" (21.6cm)
Provenance: Walter Bareiss Collection, Greenwich, Connecticut; Vermeer & Griggs Collection No. 738.
Condition:  Excellent, slight lean from one side, two tiny hairlines at the mouth rim, a few dark spots and a burst bubble in the glaze.
