乾隆 Qianlong Halo Langyao Bottle Vase

A late 18th C langyao bottle form vase, the rounded apple shaped body surmounted by a tall tubular neck covered in a rich transparent raspberry glaze with large craquelure thinning from the neck leaving the mouth rim white. The interior of the neck is white and the inset base is also glazed white. The glaze has darkened at the shoulder creating an unusual undulating "halo" effect circumscribing the vase. From the mouth rim there are darker streaks of color as well

Provenance:  Vermeer & Griggs Collection No. 132
Condition:  Excellent, the glaze has been ground off where it ran over the foot, a feature typical of late 18th C langyao wares.
