嘉慶 Jiaqing Large Jun Red Pedestal Bowl
A large heavily potted early 19th C deep bowl
with a flared rim covered in a thick orange-peel
(ju-pi)
textured red Jun-type glaze, thinning from the rim
edge exposing the buff tone body. The thick copper red glaze drains from
the rim and congeals in a thick layer stopping just short of the base
and in some areas showing evidence of nearly oozing over the burnt red
biscuit of the foot. The interior of the base is applied with a white
finely crackled glaze. |
