A Group of 光緒 Guangxu Doucai Duck Bowls and Saucers

A fine set of "Ducks" bowls and saucers painted in the doucai palette, the bowls with rounded sides rising to a hint of a flared rim. The exteriors decorated with four ducks swimming in a lotus pond separated by stands of lotus and millet below double blue lines at the rim and above a band of lappets radiating from the foot. On the interiors is a roundel of further ducks in a lotus pond encircled by concentric lines. The interior edge also treated with a double line border.

The saucers with rounded sides rising to a hint of a flared rim. The cavetto decorated with four ducks swimming in a lotus pond separated by stands of lotus and millet below double blue lines at the rim and above a band of lappets radiating from the central roundel. In the center is a roundel of further ducks in a lotus pond encircled by concentric lines. The interior edge also treated with a double line border. On the exteriors below double blue line borders are three bats in underglaze blue.

On the bases of all in underglaze blue written in kaishu script is the six character mark and period of Guangxu.
