A fine blue and white ginger jar of stout form with an unglazed mouth rim extending outward onto the broad shoulder painted on the exterior in dan miao qing hua technique (penciled blue & white) with a dragon and phoenix amongst stylized flaming clouds and flames. On the shoulder of the vase is an interwoven reed border pattern and at the base are double line borders. Centered on the base are empty concentric circles not enclosing a reign mark. Replacement wooden lid.
