萬曆 Wanli Blue & White Double Phoenix Saucer

A blue and white saucer decorated on the interior with two mythological phoenix birds in flight, each with outspread wings and streaming tail amongst stylized clouds framed by a linked ruyi cloud border. The exterior painted with pendent prunus branches with a song bird perched upon them in opposing position encircled by double line borders. On the base is painted the six character kaishu mark and period of the 萬曆 帝 Wanli emperor.
