A blue and white aster bowl of ribbed form with a barbed rim raised on a high ring foot decorated with a repeated single blossoming aster flower enclosed within a panel. At the base is a stylized lappet border and on the foot is a double line border. The interior features a single aster flower plant enclosed within double line borders. Beneath the mouth rim is a wide border of scrolling swirls with aster blossoms. A nearly identical bowl is in the Musèe Guimet in Paris from the Grandidier Collection, No. G 4992.

Condition: Excellent, though there is a chip on the exterior rim and some frits on the rim typical of this ware.
