康熙 Kangxi Underglazed Blue and Red Garlic-Headed Vase

An extremely rare slender bottle form vase atop a splayed foot, the tall neck rising to a garlic shaped head with a collared mouth opening. The head adorned with ruyi heads and pendant jewels, the phoenix medallions surrounded by opposing leafy pomegranate clusters, the foot encircled by a geometric band above concentric blue lines, the whole in underglaze blue and red over a fine porcelain body. The flat base is unglazed and exhibits burn marks from the firing process.
