光緒 19th C Kangxi Style Fahua Meiping
A fahua meiping vase of rare form with knobbed
17th C style inverted
mouth opening with applied, raised outlines in mallow yellow simulating cloisonné
wire work in the Ming style. The design of ducks in a lotus pond below
blooming lotus flowers filled in with rich overglaze enamels of sapphire blue,
brilliant green, deepest black, and varied hues of pale aubergine reserved
against an opaque aubergine ground. The base and interior of the mouth
glazed a brilliant green and on the base beneath the translucent glaze within
concentric circles in horizontal format, a technique unique to the Kangxi
period, is the incised six character kaishu honorific mark of the
明萬曆帝 Wanli Emperor. |
