雍正 Yongzheng White Glazed Wine Cup

A fine white glazed wine cup of classic form and proportion, the steeply rising body set atop a high foot, culminating in a slightly flared mouth. The six character kaishu mark and period of Yongzheng is written in the unusual horizontal format and encircled by concentric circles in underglaze blue. This format is a characteristic style of the preceding Kangxi reign and would indicate manufacture within the first few years of the Yongzheng period.
