萬曆 Wanli Imperial Yellow Bowl
A finely potted late Ming bowl with steeply rounded sides
and everted rim, raised on a gently tapered foot. The interior and
exterior applied with a translucent pale yellow glaze pooling at the foot to
brownish tones and fired to a glossy finish leaving the base glazed white. The reverse of the bowl shows an area of mottled brownish tone and a spot of
iron brown on the lip. On the base is written in kaishu script in
underglaze blue within concentric circles, the mark and period of the Wanli Emperor. |
