乾隆 Qianlong Imperial Copper Red Glazed Saucer

A fine copper-red glazed saucer dish well potted with gently rounded sides rising to a slight everted rim covered on the interior and exterior with a rich brilliant raspberry copper-red glaze that drains from the rim leaving the edge white and stopping short of the foot. The intense slightly mottled hue is sometimes referred to as sacrificial red or xianhong (fresh red). The base is glazed white. The zhuanshu seal mark and period of the 乾隆 Qianlong Emperor is painted in underglaze blue centered on the base.
