A large late 18th C langyao glazed brushwasher, the shallow bowl with incurving sides and upturned lip rests on a raised flat foot. The wide flat unglazed base has a recessed central disc painted with a clear glaze and the interior is covered in a clear crackled glaze. The rich red glaze characteristically streaked thins at the mouth-rim and deepens in tone as it pools at the foot.
