Pair of 乾隆 Qianlong Foliate Vases

A fine and rare pair of chrysanthemum bottle vases, the ribbed globular body surmounted by a molded ring of  pendant ruyi lappet heads, through which the neck rises to a flared foliated (chrysanthemum-shaped) mouth.  The whole sits atop a tall cylindrical foot and is covered overall in a rich cafe au lait type brown speckled glaze that appears somewhat metallic to the eye simulating a bronze finish, the exposed foot rim showing the fine white paste.
