乾隆 Qianlong Red Flambé Baluster Vase

A very rare red flambé glazed baluster vase, the globular body raised upon a high splayed foot. The flared neck surmounted by a compressed garlic top,  mounted in opposing positions are elephant head handles. The glaze drains from the rim and handles though the red glaze is apparent in the recesses of the details of the modeling. Below the neck and on the shoulder and above the foot are raised bowstring bands. The base is glazed with a mushroom colored crackled glaze.
