Pair of 康熙 Kangxi Aubergine Hexagonal Baluster Vases

A fine pair of hexagonally shaped baluster vases, the sides rising gracefully to a foliate mouth rim. The bodies covered in a deep qiepi zi, aubergine-eggplant skin purple, glaze derived from manganese varying in tone where the glaze runs down the body. The bases are unglazed revealing an incredibly smooth and slick biscuit surface.
