Kangxi Blue Covered Jar

A fine early 18th C globular shaped jar with short waisted neck and rounded mouth fitted with a domed lid all covered in a thick powder blue glaze stopping well above the foot showing slight burning where the glaze terminates.  The interior and bottom are glazed white and the inside shows spots of blue glaze. 
Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Height: 8" (20.3cm)  jar without cover: 7 1/4" (18.4cm)
Provenance:  NY Private Collection; Vermeer & Griggs Collection No. 471
Condition:  Surface glaze scratches conducive to age and use, minor chip to interior of domed lid.
