康熙 Kangxi Langyao Gall Bladder Shaped (Dan Ping) Vase

A gall bladder shaped vase (dan ping), also called a pear shaped vase, covered in a rich, deep strawberry red glaze thinning from the mouth rim revealing a gray crackled underglaze. The color is so intense that the crackle is barely discernable at first glance. The glaze darkens as it stops just short of the foot where the exposed paste burned slightly brown. The base bearing the apocryphal mark of Chenghua in underglaze blue beneath a clear glaze.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)

Condition:  Excellent, minute frits and glaze fracture on mouth rim.
