嘉慶 Jiaqing Large Jun Red Censer

A large heavily potted early 19th C deep censer with a flanged rim and zoomorphic animal handles covered in a thick transparent red Jun-type glaze, thinning from the rim edge exposing the buff tone crackled glaze beneath. The thick copper red glaze drains from the rim into the interior turning to purple and blue. The foot rim chipped to free the piece from the kiln and the base is the unglazed biscuit burnt a reddish tone.

Height:  5 3/8" (13.7cm)  Diameter: 10 5/8" (27cm)
Condition:  Excellent, no chips, cracks or restorations.
