光緒 Guangxu White Engraved Dragon Bowl
A finely potted Imperial bowl, the deep rounded sides rising to a slightly
flared rim banded by a flattened rib covered on the interior and exterior
with a pure white glaze and engraved with a pair of strident five clawed dragons
contesting the flaming pearl. A faint greenish tint has been
embedded into the engraving giving the illusion the design has been cut
through the biscuit. The base is glazed white and bears the six character mark
and of the period of the 光緒帝 Guangxu Emperor in kaishu script in
underglaze blue. |
