A 17th C late 明代 Ming
崇禎 Chongzhen bombé bronze
form censer, the compressed bulbous body sits atop a splayed foot,
rising to a slightly everted flat rim with opposing male lion-headed
handles mounted on the shoulder covered entirely in a deep eggplant
purple toned glaze. The bottom shows evidence of radial chatter marks
from the potter's wheel. |
