光緒 Guangxu Lake Green Enameled Tea Tray

A fine and elegant tea tray of slightly elliptical form with upright undulating sides and foliate rim decorated in relief (yang wen) with two 'dragons among flowers' motif known as hua jian long consisting of scrolling meanders and various floral blossoms, the side walls with key-fret border, all covered in a turquoise green (lake green) glaze known as song shi lü invented in the Yongzheng reign. The exterior wall is covered in a thin clear glaze while the bottom is unglazed.

Condition:  Excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration.
