雍正 Yongzheng Celadon Guanyao Hu Form Vase

A fine Song styled Hu-form pear shaped vase with noodle handles which are centered between two paired parallel raised rib bands, the bulbous body rests upon a high splayed  foot. The vase is covered in a thick sumptuous celadon opaque black stained crackled glaze stopping neatly above the foot. The interior of the foot is also glazed and showing the characteristic slots through which a cord was threaded up and through the handles to hold a lid in place. This form is based upon an archaic bronze and dates to the 18th century, likely the Yongzheng period.
