乾隆 Qianlong Guanyao Type Saucer Dish

A rare Qianlong saucer dish covered in a Guanyao type gray-blue glaze with crackle tinted with a brownish tone in the manner of the Southern Song period Guan wares made for the court.  The heavily potted dish mimicking the Song form is supported on a broad rounded foot rim which shows slight burning where the glaze meets the biscuit. The bottom of the dish extends outward from the foot and then rises to a flared rim. On the interior the glaze pools at the base of the cavetto darkening to a bluish green tone.
