康熙 Kangxi Famille Verte Albarello

An extremely rare Kangxi period albarello jar (medicine jar) of cylindrical form with waisted neck and rolled rim painted in the famille verte palette depicting the vignette of  Liu Hai "sporting with Toad" here dangling a line with five gold coins as bait with the He He twins observing from above in the clouds. This design is regarded as most auspicious and conducive to good fortune, the three legged toad being considered to be the symbol of good money making and the He He twins symbolize peace and harmony.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
