康熙 Kangxi Pair of Famille Jaune Jardinières

An extremely rare pair of  jardinières with under-trays, decorated in the famille verte (Kangxi wucai) palette on a lemon yellow ground, of rectangular section and indented corners. The sides rising at a gentle angle and flaring to a flanged top plate with key-fret design, the body resting on angular bracket feet, the tray similarly shaped. The jardinières are decorated on all four sides with scenes of Chinese warriors in battle. The trays are decorating with a lozenge enclosing an auspicious symbol centered on a diaper ground, the flanged top with a zigzag pattern.  
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722) 
Height:  7 3/8", Length:  8 3/8", Width:  6 7/8"
Provenance:  Private Collection, S.F., Vermeer & Griggs Collection No's. 496 and 497
Condition: Excellent, restoration to one jardinière and tray.
