康熙 Kangxi Famille Jaune Three Dragon Baluster Vase

A fine and rare late 康熙 Kangxi/早雍正 early Yongzheng period baluster vase of elegant form and likely made for Imperial use. The neck circumscribed with a raised rib, the flared base elevated above a high stepped foot. Painted in the famille jaune palette with three ferocious 'Imperial' five clawed writhing dragons painted in aubergine, green, pale blue and black enamel cavort amongst flames and flaming clouds in competition for the flaming pearl against a brilliant lemon-yellow enameled ground. The interior and base are covered in a clear glaze.
