乾隆 Qianlong Pair of Famille Rose Meissen Style Plates
A pair of very fine plates with
impressed basket weave design extending onto the wide reticulated rim simulating
an openwork basket plate decorated with delicately painted colorful
floral bouquets in brilliant famille rose enamels. The design closely
replicates the pattern developed by the Meissen Porcelain Works between 1745 and
1750 (see
"Yang-ts'ai:
The Foreign Colors", China Trade Museum, Milton, MA, page 41).
The rim is painted in gold over a brown wash. |
