乾隆 Qianlong Pair of Famille Rose Meissen Style Plates

A pair of very fine plates with impressed basket weave design extending onto the wide reticulated rim simulating an openwork basket plate decorated with delicately painted colorful floral bouquets in brilliant famille rose enamels.  The design closely replicates the pattern developed by the Meissen Porcelain Works between 1745 and 1750 (see "Yang-ts'ai:  The Foreign Colors", China Trade Museum, Milton, MA, page 41).  The rim is  painted in gold over a brown wash.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 乾隆 Qianlong Period (1736-1795)
Diameter:  9 3/16" (23.3 cm) and 9 5 /16" (23.7 cm)
Condition: One small glaze flake at the rim on one plate, wear to enamels and gilt edge.
