康熙 Kangxi Imari Barbed Saucer Dish

A  late 17th C saucer dish, the cavetto barbed edged and fluted as flower petals, a decorative motif quite popular at this time, painted with underglaze blue lotus petal shaped cartouche lappets enclosing alternating iron red and underglaze blue with gilt highlighted floral sprays and flowers in vases.  In the well of the dish, drawn in varying degrees of iron red and blue with gilt highlights encircled by double underglaze blue lines, a central panel depicting a lady in a fenced garden receiving a basket filled with flowers from her maidservant.  The reverse undecorated.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Diameter:  8 9/16" (21.8cm)
Condition: Hairline crack from the rim and small chip on the foot rim.
