康熙 Kangxi Blue & White Dancing "Long Eliza" Plate

A thinly potted blue and white Chinese Export plate, the cavetto with molded lotus leaves decorated with pomegranate shaped panels strewn with floral sprays beneath the barbed edge and zigzag border. The center medallion features two elongated court ladies referred to as "Long Eliza's", with one engaged in dancing while the other observes seated in a fenced garden.  The reverse with two floral sprigs. The Chinese name for the lady was mei yen, or pretty lady. The name can also be translated to pretty damsel.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Diameter:  9" (22.9cm)
Condition: Several tiny glaze flake (frits) and one large one to the rim.
