唐代 Tang Green Glazed Monkey Ewer

A very rare buff pottery green glazed ewer, the ovoid body with a pinched spout above a short waisted neck supported on short slightly spreading flat foot. The ovoid body carved beneath the tapering spout with a narrow chevron band terminating in a foliate applique, two flower heads applied to either side of the pinched spout, the curved handle which is applied on top with a monkey head looking over the shaped mouth rim, all under a translucent olive green crackled glaze falling well above the spreading pedestal foot to expose the buff toned body, the interior is also glazed.

Condition: Excellent, no restorations.
