唐代 Tang Sancai Tripod Fu Vessel

A sancai glazed fu vessel sometimes referred to as a tripod censer of compressed globular form with an everted mouth rim above a short waisted neck supported on three sinuous lion pawed legs. Three medallions are mounted between the legs and further a half medallion is mounted above the legs, covered overall with amber glaze vibrantly splashed with cream, blue, ochre and green, the interior unglazed. Probably a product of the Gongxian kiln in Henan province as the use of cobalt blue was more extensive there.
