宋代 Northern Song Cizhou Sancai Glazed Pillow

A fine Song Cizhou sancai glazed pillow of waisted rectangular form, the slightly concave top surface bearing a central foliate quatrefoil shaped reserve incised with a flowering peony spray, the petals splashed in creamy white and amber tones, the leafy stem in green, all reserved on a dark green-black ground within an amber border, the sides molded with a formalized floral diaper and splashed in green on the longer sides and the shorter in amber. The unglazed base revealing the pinkish buff ware.

Condition: Excellent, several spots of glaze loss and chips from wear.
