Northern 宋代 Song Jian Hare's Fur Bowl

A Jian hare's fur tea bowl (wan)of deep conical form with a shallow "finger groove" below the rim, supported on a short foot, covered in a lustrous black glaze, tinged with a hint of metallic blue and streaked with caramel brown hare's fur markings emanating from the rim. The streaks on the interior thinning to leave the well of the bowl almost pure black glazed. The exterior similarly streaked, the glaze falling well short of the base in a wavy line above the reddish brown buff ware.
