順治 Shunzhi Dehua Leiwen Censer
A mid 17th C
順治 Shunzhi Dehua censer based on an archaic bronze form
censer banded by three bowstring ribs decorated with an archaistic design motif
called a leiwen (thunder pattern) incised
within the central border. The body is raised on three ruyi shaped bracket feet and covered in a creamy
translucent ivory-white glaze. The interior and base are not totally glazed
revealing the white biscuit. On the base are concentric rings from the potter's
wheel. |
