順治 Shunzhi Dehua Leiwen Censer

A mid 17th C 順治 Shunzhi Dehua censer based on an archaic bronze form censer banded by three bowstring ribs decorated with an archaistic design motif called a leiwen (thunder pattern) incised within the central border. The body is raised on three ruyi shaped bracket feet and covered in a creamy translucent ivory-white glaze. The interior and base are not totally glazed revealing the white biscuit. On the base are concentric rings from the potter's wheel.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 順治 Shunzhi Period (1644-1661)
Height:  2 11/16" (6.9cm)  Diameter:  4 5/8" (11.8cm)
Condition: Slightly warped in circumference, firing fissures on base.
