Large 18th C Dehua Floral Molded Cup
A large Dehua libation cup modeled in
the form of a rhinoceros horn, the surface carved with lotus petal lappets over
which a decoration of peony flowers has been carved on one side and on the other
prunus blossoms. The
cup rests on a carved stand of intertwined branches which travel up its sides
all covered in a creamy ivory translucent glaze. Circa 1750, Qianlong period. |
