18th C Model of a Buffalo
An 18th C realistically modeled
figure of a water buffalo, a beast of burden in China as well as India.
The beast standing four square, his tail tucked tight to his flank the
incised wrinkling and detail of the eyes almost indiscernible under the
creamy thick translucent glaze covering all but the undersides of the
hooves. The nostrils pierced through to the interior also acted as vents
during the firing process. |
