18th C 康熙 Kangxi Dehua Figure of Budai

The smiling corpulent figure of the Budai Heshang shown seated with hands outstretched, his left arm supported by a cloth sack, his right supported on upraised knee.  Budai Heshang, the monk with the cloth sack is regarded as a manifestation of Maitreya.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
 Height:  5" (12.7cm)  Width:  6" (15.2cm)
Provenance: European private collection.
Condition:  Restoration to fingers on both hands, firing glaze fissures on both sides of the figure.
