18th Century Dehua Guanyin

A fine Dehua Blanc de Chine figure of Manjusri, the goddess seated on a low oval dais with an incised feather design, wearing a voluminous flowing robe. The robe is open at the chest to reveal a beaded lotus flower head necklace, her hands crossed and resting on her right knee. In her right hand she holds the scroll of wisdom, her face lowered with a benign expression below an elaborate chignon held with a lingzhi hairpin, all under a rich ivory toned glaze. Possibly from the He workshop as it is almost identical to a larger model signed He Chaozong.
Qing Dynasty, Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Height:  9 1/2" (24.2cm)
Condition: Restoration to fingers tips on hand with scroll.
