17th Century Dehua Seated Guanyin

A fine Dehua Blanc de Chine figure of Guanyin seated in rajalalitasana (royal ease), her right arm resting on her knee. Her face lowered with a benign expression below an elaborate chignon mounted with a ruyi-shaped diadem, clothed in an elegant voluminous flowing robe falling in thick folds with long cowl draped over her high chignon. The robe is open at the chest to reveal a beaded lotus flower head necklace, her one leg crossed under the raised knee, all under a milky white glossy glaze.
A collection or museum inventory number (625) in red is painted on the interior.

Condition:  Firing crack in rear fold of robe.
