17th Century Dehua Seated Guanyin
A fine Dehua Blanc de Chine figure of Guanyin seated
in rajalalitasana (royal ease), her right arm resting on her knee. Her
face lowered with a benign expression below an elaborate chignon mounted with a
ruyi-shaped diadem, clothed in an elegant voluminous flowing robe falling in thick folds with
long cowl draped over her high chignon. The robe is open at the chest to
reveal a beaded lotus flower head necklace, her one leg crossed under the raised
knee, all under a milky white glossy glaze. |
