19th C Model of an Elephant
An 19th C realistically modeled
figure of an elephant, a beast of burden in China as well as India. The beast standing four square
with realistically molded wrinkled skin, trunk curled to its right side
and ears held close to the head, his tail tucked tight to his flank, all under the
creamy thick translucent glaze covering all but the undersides of the
feet. The eyes pierced through to the interior also acted as vents
during the firing process. |
