乾隆 Qianlong Celadon Apple Form (Pingguo Zun) Water Pot

An apple form water pot (pingguo zun), the mouth incurving from the shoulders above a slightly compressed globular form body, the whole covered in an orange peeled sea foam celadon bubble suffused glaze stopping in a line above the foot exposing the fine white paste. The concave foot covered in a clear glaze under which the underglaze blue zhuanshu mark and period of Qianlong is written.
