康熙 Kangxi Carved Celadon Guan Jar

A finely carved Ming style guan jar of squat baluster form, the body carved with peony flowers and meandering leafy tendrils above a stylized wave pattern border. The jar is covered in a rich translucent celadon glaze, the interior unglazed and the recessed base and the foot has been painted with reddish toned dressing.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Height:  6" (15.2cm)  Diameter of mouth: 7 3/8" (18.7cm)
Provenance:  Private Dutch Collection
Condition:  Excellent, firing flaw above foot and on shoulder, raised lump on shoulder.
