康熙 Kangxi Carved Celadon Guan Jar

A finely carved Ming style guan jar of squat baluster form, the body carved with peony flowers and meandering leafy tendrils above a double line border and stylized lappet pattern. The jar is covered in a rich translucent celadon glaze, the interior unglazed and the recessed base is glazed and the foot has been painted with reddish toned dressing.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
  Height:  4 1/4" (10.8cm)  Diameter of mouth: 5 1/2" (14cm)
Provenance:  Vermeer & Griggs Collection No. 285
Condition:  Excellent, firing flaw on bottom.
