乾隆 Qianlong Blue & White Hu Vase
An elegant blue and white small
hu-form vase with rounded sides and sharply incurving
shoulders, surmounted by a tubular neck flaring gently to a galleried rim, the
whole atop a rounded splayed foot. The vase is decorated with a frieze of
flowering lotus plants. The foot rim and walls of the deep inset base are
unglazed and the bottom is glazed white. As can be seen by the exposed biscuit
on the bottom, though burnt in some areas, the paste exhibits the fine
white compact texture typical of the period. |
