Ming Zhengde Three Legged Censer


Three Friends of Winter 1-Bamboo

A blue and white censer of cylindrical form, the sides rising to a lipped rim and raised on three short cabriole legs. A design of the three friends motif is painted between a double line border beneath a key fret border with further double lines below the lipped rim. The interior is glazed just below the rim with the rest left unglazed and the base is glazed on the outer edge leaving the central area unglazed.

Provenance: Vermeer & Griggs Collection No. 1219
Condition: Small firing cracks and glaze pulls evident, no chips or restoration.
