康熙 Kangxi Blue & White Aster & Chrysanthemum Plate

A blue and white aster dish of moulded form with a foliated rim raised on a ring foot decorated in the cavetto with stylized floral petals encircling a central medallion in the well of the dish of blossoming chrysanthemum flowers issuing from rocks. The foliated rim painted with petal panels enclosing a single aster flower. The reverse side painted with three floral sprigs. The base is glazed white with underglaze blue concentric rings encircling an open lozenge mark, one of the babao, auspicious symbols of good fortune also known as the eight precious things symbols.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Diameter:  10 5/8" (27cm)
Condition: Excellent, typical fritting of glaze in several locations on the rim.
