康熙 Kangxi Blue & White Iznik Style Plate

A fine Kangxi blue and white ogee
formed plate decorated in an Iznik inspired pattern. The center of the dish
painted with nine sculpted lobed leaf-shaped panels enclosing penciled stylized
floral designs of lotus and chrysanthemums radiating from a central medallion of
lotus and peony plants, the cavetto left as an undecorated border. The rim of
the dish painted with a reduced version of the central design. The reverse
painted with a stylized petal design border. On the base a censer mark within
concentric circles. |
