康熙 Kangxi Blue & White Goblet

An early Kangxi (late Transitional)  blue and white goblet, the globular bowl with upraised flattened rim rests upon a high splayed stem. The bowl is decorated with three lotus blossoms and associated leafy tendrils beneath a herringbone border. On the stem is a single border of upright plantain leaves and pendant lotus bud sprigs above double line borders circumscribing the base. The interior of the stem is glazed white with the foot rim unglazed.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 康熙 Kangxi Period (1662-1722)
Height: 5 1/4" (13.3cm)  Diameter of mouth:  3 5/8" (9.2 cm)
Condition: Firing chip on the foot rim.
