A large blue & white ovoid shaped ginger jar with domed lid painted with a family scene in a walled garden of a mother with her son standing beneath a pine tree while the father greets them holding what appears to be a floral sprig. The domed cover decorated with a seated boy. Encircling the neck of the jar is a border featuring the "three friends of winter": pine, prunus, and bamboo. The bottom bearing concentric rings in underglaze blue. The entire jar is covered with a soft clear glaze.
清代 Qing Dynasty, 光緒 Guangxu Period (1875-1908)
Height with cover:  10 1/8" (25.7cm)  Height without cover:  8 7/8" (22.6cm)
Condition: Excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration.
